Pharaonic Bestiary

Creatures of the Nile, desert, temple precincts and Duat range from ordinary animals with sacred importance to funerary guardians, desert predators, elementals, fiends and beings found nowhere outside the divine world of Kemet.

Ammut, funerary devourer of the Pharaonic divine world
Not every creature in Kemet is merely an animal. Sacred identity, divine service and the judgement of the dead can turn a familiar shape into something far more dangerous.

Using the Bestiary

The most effective Pharaonic encounters connect the creature to a place and a reason. A crocodile in a canal, a uraeus in a royal sanctuary, a mummy in a sealed tomb and a fiend near a desecrated shrine are not interchangeable threats. Follow the creature into its own entry for edition-specific mechanics, then use the surrounding geography, cult and divine relationships to decide why it is there.
