Appearance: A living cascade of searing flames, the Primal Fire Elemental embodies the essence of unbridled infernos. Its form, ever-shifting and dancing, radiates an intense, blinding heat. An ephemeral entity, it leaves a trail of flickering embers in its wake.

Behavior: Fueled by an insatiable hunger for destruction, the Primal Fire Elemental moves with an erratic and unpredictable rhythm. It revels in consuming anything in its path, reducing all it touches to smoldering ashes. Despite its destructive nature, it shows no signs of sentience or purpose beyond relentless combustion.

Habitat: Manifesting in the heart of volcanic landscapes or amid massive wildfires, the Primal Fire Elemental thrives in the midst of roaring flames and scorching heat. It is drawn to places where the elemental forces of fire are at their most potent.

Modus Operandi: Engulfing its targets in an all-encompassing conflagration, the Primal Fire Elemental wreaks havoc with an array of fiery assaults. From explosive bursts of flame to fiery tendrils that reach out to sear and consume, it leaves devastation in its wake.

Motivation: Driven by an innate instinct to incinerate and consume, the Primal Fire Elemental lacks any discernible motivation beyond the relentless pursuit of destruction. It is a force of nature, an embodiment of the unquenchable fire’s primal, chaotic essence.

Fire Form. The elemental can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing. A creature that touches the elemental or hits it with a melee attack while within 10 feet of it takes 10 (3d6) fire damage.

Illumination. The elemental sheds bright light in a 60-foot radius and dim light for an additional 60 feet.

Multiattack. The elemental makes two touch attacks.

Touch. Melee Weapon Attack: +15 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 23 (4d8 + 8) fire damage.

Magma Wave (Recharge 5-6). The elemental releases a wave of intense heat in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw, taking 63 (18d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Regional Effects:

  • Blazing Atmosphere. The air within 6 miles of the elemental’s lair is exceptionally dry, causing open flames to burn brighter and smoke to disperse rapidly.
  • Eternal Twilight. The sky above the elemental’s lair is tinted with hues of red and orange, creating a perpetual twilight even during the day.

A primal fire elemental cannot enter water or any other nonflammable liquid.

Unlike lesser fire elementals, a primal fire elemental may attempt to evaporate a lesser body of water if blocked. fire elementals speak Ignan.

Elemental Traits: Immune to poison, sleep, Paralysis, and stunning. Not subject to critical hits.

Burn (Ex): Those hit by a primal fire elementals slam attack must succeed at a Reflex save (DC 51) or catch fire. The flame burns for 1d4 rounds. A burning creature can take a move-equivalent action to put out the flame. Creatures hitting a fire elemental with natural weapons or unarmed attacks take fire damage as though hit by the elementals attack, and also catch fire unless they succeed at a Reflex save. The DC is Constitution-based.
