Lightning Reflexes Feat

Lightning Reflexes (General)

Benefit: You get a +2 bonus on all Reflex saving throws.

What Lightning Reflexes Protects Against

Lightning Reflexes improves every Reflex saving throw by +2. Reflex saves commonly represent getting out of the way of sudden hazards such as blasts, traps, collapsing terrain and other effects where speed and reaction matter more than toughness or willpower.

Lightning Reflexes Example

A character with a +4 Reflex save normally rolls 1d20 + 4. Lightning Reflexes increases the bonus to +6. Against a DC 16 effect, a roll of 10 succeeds with the feat instead of producing a total of only 14 without it.

When to Choose It

  • Characters with weak Reflex saves can use it to improve a broad defensive category.
  • It is useful in campaigns with frequent area effects, traps and environmental hazards.
  • The feat has no prerequisite and applies to every Reflex save.

See the Feats index for other defensive and reaction-based options.
