The Great Horde is a regional steppe khanate within the political world left by Mhurak Stone-Blood’s Great Muster. It is not a hobgoblin branch of the Ninefold Dominion and does not form a fifth co-equal orc successor power. Its exact relationship to the four recognised successor powers remains unresolved.

Older steppe dynasties and regional hordes still shape politics from the Urals to the Black Sea. Their histories include civil wars, tributary systems and periods of great military power. By 1454 those inheritances coexist uneasily with the four recognised orc successor powers, local khans and human states. Former Ilkhanate territories remain historically important, but they are not a hobgoblin dynasty of the Ninefold Dominion.

The khanate has experienced violent internal disorder, and human Timur’s campaigns further weakened older steppe alliances. In 1454 Muscovy is increasingly assertive, but the later Great Stand on the Ugra River has not yet occurred. Tribute, raids, diplomacy and military pressure remain live campaign problems rather than settled future history.
