Appearance
Towering at 9 feet tall with a muscular, humanoid avian frame, Varukas are cloaked in pristine white feathers tipped with gold. Their massive flaming wings radiate heat and light, crackling with divine fire, while their loose celestial trousers and gleaming gold-and-silver great mace signify both martial discipline and heavenly authority. Talons, beak, and wings are all weaponized, giving the impression of a living weapon of righteous judgment.
Behaviour
Varukas are relentless, lawful, and disciplined hunters, always vigilant against evil. They act with measured aggression, attacking only those who embody corruption or tyranny. Though fearsome in combat, they are capable of diplomacy and alliance with good-aligned dragons or celestials when the mission demands.
Habitat
As extraplanar beings, Varukas dwell in Garuda’s celestial aeries, high above the mortal plane. They occasionally descend to mount missions against evil serpents, dragons, or demonic incursions, roaming skies, mountains, and sacred sites where corruption festers.
Modus Operandi
Varukas strike from the air with devastating precision, combining their flaming wings, great mace, and talons in coordinated assaults. They employ improved grab, rakes, and spell-like abilities to subdue enemies, favoring direct confrontation with precision and overwhelming force. They are tacticians as well as warriors, targeting leaders and sources of corruption first.
Motivation
Driven by loyalty to Garuda and divine justice, Varukas exist to eradicate evil, particularly corrupted Nāgas and malevolent dragons. They are animated by an eternal sense of purpose: the protection of cosmic order and the destruction of malice wherever it hides.

Varukas are celestial champions of Garuda, forged to hunt and destroy corruption wherever it festers. They are eternal enemies of evil Nāgas and malevolent dragons, descending from the skies on wings of fire to mete out divine justice.
Legends describe them as majestic, awe-inspiring warriors, cloaked in white feathers tipped with gold, wielding gleaming maces, and radiating a blinding celestial aura. While merciless to corrupt beings, Varukas show restraint toward noble serpents and good-aligned dragons, embodying both judgment and mercy.
Traits
Flaming Wings. The Varuka’s wings are composed entirely of divine fire. While flying, it can strike all creatures within 10 ft. with a Flaming Wing attack, dealing 5d6 fire damage.
Divine Resistance. The Varuka has damage reduction 10 against attacks from evil-aligned creatures and resistance to nonmagical weapons.
Spellcasting. The Varuka is a 14th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 19, +12 to hit with spell attacks).

Varukas are the creations of the King of all Avians, Garuda. They serve their creator by destroying evil, especially evil dragons. Unlike their master, the varuka are willing to work peacefully with good dragons if the need to do so ever presents itself.
Varukas stand 9 ft. tall and weigh 350 pounds. They speak Celestial, Common, and Draconic languages.

Varukas love to fight evil whenever they get the chance, preferring to bash them with their +3 Large Greatclubs of impact and dragon bane.
Flaming Wings (Ex): A varuka’s wings are made completely out of fire. They allow the varuka to Fly and they deal 5d6 fire damage with each successful strike.
Improved Grab (Ex): If a varuka strikes a creature with both of its talons, it can attempt a grapple check. If successful, it establishes a hold and can rake with both of its talons.
Rake (Ex): Attack bonus +19 melee, damage 1d6+6.
