Edition Applicability

These are published Pathfinder 1e rules. This subdomain replaces the specified features of its parent domain. A cleric needs access to both from their deity, and cannot choose the parent domain as their other domain. Other rules traditions are separate choices; this page does not supply a fifth-edition conversion.

The complete powers and nine domain spells for this subdomain are given below, including inherited features.

Rage Subdomain — Pathfinder 1e

Destructive Smite (Su)

Before a melee attack, declare a smite. A hit gains a morale bonus to damage equal to half your cleric level, minimum +1. Daily uses equal 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Rage (Su)

At 8th level, replace Destructive Aura with barbarian rage for a total number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level. These rounds add to rage rounds from barbarian levels. At 12th and 16th level, select one rage power without a level requirement. For other effects of these powers, use half your cleric level as your barbarian level. Use the standard barbarian rage rules for starting, ending and recovering from rage.

How Rage Subdomain Plays

Rage strengthens melee pressure, but spellcasting cannot continue freely during barbarian rage. Destructive Smite remains a separate resource. Its spell list combines the Destruction spells with Bull’s Strength and Moonstruck at levels 2 and 6.

Priests, Rites and Sacred Places

Rage priests treat fury as a force to be directed. Their rites use exertion, battle cries and the breaking of obstacles; discipline decides when that fury ends.
