Metallurgy Domain

Blacksmith at work representing the Metallurgy Domain

The Metallurgy Domain makes worked metal a sacred craft: shaping it, heating it, corroding it and striking through its defences. This d20 3.x domain comes from Dominique Crouzet’s Celtic Druids and the Tuatha de Dannan and is associated with Goibhniu.

How the Metallurgy Domain Plays

Metallurgy rewards a cleric who expects armour, weapons, gates, constructs and crafted objects to matter. Its granted power is situational but decisive against metal defences, while the spell list grows from repair and heating into reshaping, repelling and becoming living iron.

Goibhniu and Sacred Smithcraft

Goibhniu is the established patron of this version of the domain. Metallurgy expresses the smith’s mastery of worked metal rather than the broader making covered by the Craft Domain.

Priests, Forges and Sacred Duties

Metallurgy priests bless forges, judge the quality of arms and armour, repair vital tools and protect communities whose survival depends on metalwork. Their temples naturally overlap with workshops, armouries and guild halls.
