Dabble Cauldrons — Legacy Witch Art

Cauldrons is a legacy Witch Art centred on magical brewing, alchemy, transformation and the cauldron as a ritual focus. It belongs to the preserved d20 Dabble system.

Choose Cauldrons If…

  • You want brewing, transformation and ritual preparation to define your Witch.
  • You enjoy potions, ingredients and magic that can be prepared before danger starts.
  • You want the cauldron to be a genuine magical tool rather than decorative scenery.

What it feels like to play: Cauldrons suits a player who likes preparation. The Witch’s magic should smell of smoke, herbs and strange ingredients long before the first spell is cast.

Legacy rules note

This Art uses the preserved d20 Witch rules. Its original prerequisites and spell progression remain below; other editions need a deliberate conversion.

Dabble Cauldrons
A cauldron over a fire in William Blake‘s illustrations to his mythical Europe a Prophecy first published in 1794. This version of the print is currently held by the Fitzwilliam Museum

Cauldron-workers use brewing, heat and transformation as magical techniques. The original d20 write-up restricts the Art to non-chaotic Witches; campaigns may instead tie access to alchemical discipline, coven training or ritual practice.

Power: Witch’s Brew: The witch incurs only 75% of the normal costs associated with the Brew Potion feat and receives a +2 bonus on all Craft (alchemy) checks. All Cauldrons spells require a small pot or cauldron as a material component.
