Giant Subtype
Giant Subtype
A giant is a humanoid creature of great strength, usually of at least Large size. Giants have a number of racial Hit Dice and never substitute such Hit Dice for class levels like some humanoids. Giants have low-light vision, and treat Intimidate and Perception as class skills.
Giant ancestry. In this world, every giant lineage ultimately descends from ancient Titans. These are not exclusively the Titans of Greek mythology: primordial world-shapers and Titan-kind arise in different traditions, and their giant descendants have distinct regional families and histories. The Norse jötnar preserve one such ancestral tradition, while the giants of France, including Gargantua and his son Pantagruel, belong to others. Titan ancestry does not mean that every giant is itself a Titan, a deity or a member of one Greek bloodline. See the Primal Titan histories and the Asgardian Pantheon.
