How the Joy Domain Plays

Joy is a support domain whose magic makes allies braver, stronger and harder to discourage. Its early spells reward a cleric who keeps the party’s morale high; later spells turn delight into powerful protection, attraction and supernatural compulsion. The granted Diplomacy bonus also gives the cleric a clear role when conflict can still be solved by talking.

Joy Is Not the Same as Pleasure

Joy is concerned with exalted happiness, hope and communal uplift. The Pleasure Domain is a separate rules sphere with a different emphasis and spell list. Keeping the two distinct matters when choosing a deity or building a cleric.

Priests, Temples and Sacred Duties

Joy priests lead festivals, restore courage after disaster and treat despair as something a community can resist together. Their temples are natural gathering places for music, feasting and public celebration, but the domain’s strongest magic shows that joy can also become a formidable defence against fear and supernatural misery.
