Imbolc Subdomain

The Imbolc Subdomain is a Pathfinder 1e-compatible form of Protection centred on hearth, home and the armour of those who defend a community. It keeps the Protection Domain’s resistance and Resistant Touch, but replaces Aura of Protection with Fortify Armor.

Protection Domain Resistance
You receive a +1 resistance bonus on saving throws. The bonus increases by 1 for every 5 levels you possess.
Resistant Touch (Sp)
As a standard action, touch an ally to grant that creature your Protection Domain resistance bonus for 1 minute. You lose your own domain resistance bonus for that minute. You can use this ability 3 + your Wisdom modifier times per day.
Fortify Armor (Su)
This power replaces Aura of Protection. At 8th level, a touched garment, suit of armour or shield gains light fortification for a number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level. At 12th level this becomes moderate fortification, and at 16th level heavy fortification. The rounds need not be consecutive, but you can affect only one item at a time.

How the Imbolc Subdomain Plays
Imbolc is less about projecting a defensive aura and more about preparing one crucial defender or object to survive devastating attacks. Its spell changes also move Protection toward sanctified places and communal defence, making it particularly useful when a settlement, household or fortified refuge matters to the campaign.
Hearth, Home and Protection
The subdomain’s theme is practical protection: blessing homes, strengthening defenders and making a sacred place harder to violate. It sits naturally beside the broader Protection Domain rather than replacing it as a separate divine sphere.
Priests, Rites and Sacred Duties
Imbolc priests bless hearths, doors, armour and those who stand guard. Their rites are communal and protective, performed before dangerous journeys, sieges, seasonal hardships or any moment when a household must withstand an outside threat.
