Enhanced Taste
Enhanced Taste sharpens the caster’s palate enough to identify ingredients, judge food and drink, and detect poison from a tiny sample. It is preserved as a legacy d20 Witch spell rather than assumed to exist in later editions.

The caster can identify the broad constituents of food by tasting it, judge the quality of wine or drinking water, and recognise poison from a tiny sample. Unless a poison specifically requires more, the amount sampled is too small to cause harm.
The divine focus can be a holy symbol or another ritual tool appropriate to the caster’s tradition.
Using Enhanced Taste in Play
This is an investigation spell: checking a banquet for poison, identifying an unfamiliar herb mixture, judging whether water is drinkable, or working out what went into a suspicious potion or meal.
What Changed?
No modern conversion is assumed. The enhanced palate, ingredient recognition and safe poison-sampling effect remains confined to the legacy d20 form.
Counterplay and Related Magic
The spell identifies broad constituents but does not neutralize poison or guarantee perfect knowledge of an unknown recipe. Compare Detect Poison and Neutralize Poison.
