Juggernaut (Cain Marko) is a fictional Marvel Comics character associated with the X-Men franchise. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-writer Jack Kirby, he first appeared X-Men #12 (July 1965).

Marko is X-Men founder Charles Xavier’s step-brother and bullied Xavier when they were children. Granted almost unsurpassed superhuman strength and invulnerability by the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, Juggernaut then embarked on a lengthy criminal career, often tangling with his step-brother’s superhero team.

A popular character, Juggernaut has fought the X-Men in several movies, animated series and video games.

Invulnerability The Juggernaut is virtually invulnerable to physical assault. He has withstood temperatures in excess to the surface of the sun and as low as absolute zero with no effect. Even direct strikes from the hammer of the mighty Thor barely faze him.

  • Marko is able to survive in a vacuum and has no need to breathe, eat, or drink. He is also immune to the damaging effects of extreme pressure, having walked across the bottom of the ocean.
  • Juggernaut receives a saving throw against any effect that requires a Fortitude save; he suffers no damage if successful. If he fails, he only suffers half damage. If the effect normally has a Fortitude save for partial damage, Juggernaut suffers the partial damage on a failed save and no damage on a successful one.
  • Juggernaut never tires – he is immune to becoming fatigued or exhausted by any means. Juggernaut is immune to nonlethal damage.
  • Juggernaut has 85% fortification.

Might of Cyttorak Mystical energies flow through Juggernaut’s body, empowering him with cosmic might. His natural attacks are considered epic magic.

  • Juggernaut is for all intents and purposes unstoppable. He receives a +30 bonus on any attempts to break an object or burst a door. He can also breach magical fields such as a Wall of Force. He has only been stopped once, by the Hulk as War II and enhanced by Celestial technology.
  • Juggernaut is near impossible to kill even for those that can injure him. Marko has been reduced to a skeleton that continued to advance and fight his enemies until he regenerated to full health. The Juggernaut must be reduced to -792 WP to be incapacitated. It is unknown if even this will kill him as he very well may regenerate to full health even from this state.

Powerful Build Juggernauts massive form is considered two size categories larger for any effects or abilities that take size into consideration.

Drawbacks Despite his high resistance to magic any spells that do effect Marko do at greater potency. Against magical assaults his energy resistance is halved.

Juggernaut had formerly lost much of his power after enraging Cyttorak. His powers seemed to have returned to their previous level, though he no longer has his mystical equipment.

Juggernaut still has not yet shown to have regained his force field. If he does it will function as follows:

Force Field Juggernaut is able to generate a mystical force field around himself that renders him invincible to injury. No attack has yet been seen to breach his field. Juggernaut’s force field can protect him from 2200 points of damage before collapsing; it also regenerates 100 points per round. He can raise or lower his field as a full round action. If his field is destroyed he can raise it again within 1d4 rounds.

Possessions Unstable molecule uniform.
