Lead by horned devils known as Cornugon, Malebranche, “Evil Claws”, guard the nine hells. Their leaders are known by names such as Malacoda (“evil tail”), , Scarmiglione (“ruffle-haired”), Barbariccia (“curly beard”), Alichino (the harlequin), Calcabrina (“one who walks on brine”), Cagnazzo (“bad dog”), Libicocco (scirocco), Draghignazzo (“dragon”, and “guffaw”), Ciriatto (“little pork”), Graffiacane (“scratch dog”), Farfarello (“goblin”) and Rubicante (“rabid”).

Charge (Ex): In addition to normal benefits of a charge, a malebranche can make a single gore attack that deals triple damage.

Fear Aura (Su): A malebranche can radiate a 15 foot radius fear aura as a free action. A creature in the area must succeed on a DC 18 Will save or be affected as though by a fear spell (caster level 12th ). A creature that successfully saves cannot be affected again by the same malebranche’s aura for 24 hours. Other devils are im-mune to this effect. The save DC is Charisma based.

Regeneration (Ex): A malebranche takes normal damage from good aligned or silver weapons, and from spells or effects with the good descriptors.

Spell-like Abilities: At will – greater teleport (self plus 50 pounds only).

Caster level 17th

Supreme Power Attack (Ex): A malebranche gains a +2 damage bonus for every -1 penalty they take to their attack while using Power Attack. (Or +4 if using a two handed weapon)

Possessions: A malebranche usually carries a huge +1 axiomatic cold iron trident as its weapon of choice.
