Demon Eurynomus, the Corpse Eater (King of Ghouls )
“Meet Eurynomus, the Corpse-Eating Demon Lord with a hunger so deadly, it devours both the living and the dead!”

Eurynomus is a towering, grotesque demon lord whose form radiates decay and malevolence. His body is a twisted amalgamation of sharp, jagged features: cloven hooves that crack the earth with every step, a long, barbed tail that lashes with deadly precision, and towering horns that spiral like those of a demonic ram. His claws are razor-sharp, capable of rending flesh with ease. However, the most horrifying aspect of Eurynomus is the second face, grotesquely embedded in his bloated, distended stomach. This second maw is a grotesque parody of life, perpetually licking its lips, its eyes glinting with malice, eager for its next feast. His skin is mottled, a sickly greenish-black, rotting as though constantly in a state of decay.
Behavior:
Eurynomus is a creature of insatiable hunger and sadistic pleasure. His appetite knows no bounds, particularly for fresh flesh, and he delights in the act of dismembering and consuming the dead. His behavior is driven by his craving for sustenance—every battlefield, every conflict, every place rife with death serves as an invitation for him and his ghoul minions to feast. He is a cunning, relentless predator, often lurking in the shadows of war-torn lands, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. His hunger is not merely for sustenance but for the perverse satisfaction of consuming his prey in the most horrific manner possible.
Habitat:
Eurynomus resides in the deepest, most desolate corners of the Abyss, a plane of endless chaos and suffering. His domain is a place of dark, rotting ruins, where the air is thick with the stench of death and decay. However, Eurynomus is not confined to his abyssal lair. He is drawn to realms on the Material Plane where death and destruction are common, particularly battlefields, graveyards, and places where war rages. He revels in the carnage of dying soldiers, the cries of the fallen, and the quick, easy access to corpses. His very presence alters the environment, spreading corruption and fear, and leading to changes in local funerary customs as civilizations scramble to protect their dead from desecration.
Modus Operandi:
Eurynomus’ modus operandi is brutal and efficient. He thrives in chaos, particularly in regions torn apart by warfare, where the dead are plentiful and the living are weak. His ghoulish minions—ghasts, ghouls, and fiendish creatures—act as his scouts and helpers, rounding up corpses for their lord to feast upon. He often attacks swiftly and without warning, appearing in the heat of battle or in the aftermath of a bloody conflict.
His second maw—an ever-hungry, terrifying mouth inside his belly—sucks the meat from his victims with ferocious speed, leaving only bones behind. When confronted with enemies, Eurynomus charges in, using his immense strength to crush opponents and using his breath weapon to melt flesh and bone alike. He enjoys taking his time with the most tortured of souls, feeding on their fear as much as their flesh.
Motivation:
Eurynomus is driven by an unyielding, primal desire to consume. His hunger is not just for sustenance—it is an addiction, a compulsion that compels him to seek out death wherever it blooms. His craving for flesh and his grotesque rituals of consumption are his sole focus, and everything else is secondary. Though he may serve dark entities like Yeenoghu or Hecate, his allegiance is purely opportunistic.
Eurynomus cares nothing for power, land, or politics; his only loyalty is to his own hunger. He feeds on the decay of life itself, motivated by a thirst for flesh that is never quenched and a sadistic joy in the suffering and desecration he causes. His ultimate goal is to feast endlessly, to watch the world break down, to see civilization crumble into ruin—and to be there, waiting in the shadows to devour all that remains.

TRAITS
Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Eurynomus fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.
Innate Necromancy. Eurynomus can cast the following spells without expending spell slots:
- At will: Darkness, Toll the Dead, Inflict Wounds
- 3/day: Blight, Cloudkill, Harm, Animate Dead
- 1/day: Finger of Death, Plane Shift, Power Word Stun
Demon of Decay. Eurynomus can use his Corpse Feast spell (described below) to drain the life force from a creature, allowing him to raise a single Death Knight from its remains. This raised Death Knight serves him for 24 hours before decaying.
Fear Aura. Any creature that starts its turn within 30 feet of Eurynomus must succeed on a DC 25 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. A frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Regeneration. Eurynomus regains 30 hit points at the start of his turn if he has at least 1 hit point.
Corpse Eater. Whenever Eurynomus kills a creature, he can consume the remains, healing for an amount equal to the creature’s hit points or raising a small undead servant (a ghast or ghoul) from its corpse, which serves him for 24 hours.

Hit: 35 (6d6 + 10) piercing damage.
Breath of Rot (Recharge 5-6). Eurynomus exhales a cloud of decaying gas in a 40-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 26 Constitution saving throw, taking 70 (20d6) necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.
LEGENDARY ACTIONS
Eurynomus can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Eurynomus regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.
- Claw Attack. Eurynomus makes one claw attack.
- Consume Flesh (Costs 2 Actions). Eurynomus targets a dead creature within 30 feet of him. He heals for hit points equal to the creature’s maximum hit points and can raise a ghoul or ghast from the corpse, which serves him for 24 hours.
- Frightening Roar (Costs 3 Actions). Eurynomus releases a terrifying roar. All creatures within 30 feet of him must succeed on a DC 25 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute.
REGIONAL EFFECTS
The presence of Eurynomus on the Material Plane causes the following effects within a 6-mile radius of his lair:
- Decay of Life. All plants within the area wither and die. Animals and other creatures must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or suffer a level of exhaustion each day they remain in the area.
- Grave Fog. The region is covered by a thin layer of fog, making it difficult to see more than 30 feet away. This fog is permeated by a stench of decay.
- Rise of the Dead. Dead creatures within the region may rise as ghouls or ghasts if they are within a fresh grave or the remains of a slain creature.
LORE
Eurynomus, the Corpse Eater, is a primordial demon lord whose twisted existence is centered around the desecration of the dead. With an insatiable hunger for the flesh of the fallen, he roams the planes, leaving destruction in his wake. His second face, grotesquely embedded in his bloated stomach, is a constant reminder of his gluttonous appetite. Eurynomus is not concerned with ruling or gaining power but simply seeks to feed and indulge in the depravity of death.
Unlike other demon lords, Eurynomus holds no particular territory or allegiance. Instead, he thrives on the chaos of the dead—often visiting battlefields, warzones, and graveyards to consume the flesh of the fallen. He can often be found as a mercenary to other fiendish powers, though his services are as unpredictable as his hunger. Those who encounter him must be wary, for Eurynomus does not simply destroy life—he corrupts it, leaving an enduring mark of decay that is impossible to erase.
Magic Items and Relics: Eurynomus may possess the Crown of Rot, a powerful artifact that grants him dominance over lesser undead and enhances his necromantic powers. The Crown of Rot allows Eurynomus to cast Create Undead at will, as well as enhancing his Corpse Feast spell.

With cloven hooves, a barbed tail, tall twisted horns, and wicked claws, this great fiend is an imposing sight. Where its belly would be, a second face licks its lips, its maw looking like it could swallow a person whole.

Eurynomos is the demon of rotting corpses dwelling in the Underworld. He is sometimes identified with Hades or (Orcus) and sometimes said to be a servitor of Hecate
Eurynomus is a primal demon lord who owes allegiance to Yeenoghu the terrible lord of Gnolls . He and his followers rule no territory and fight for no other cause. On a plane obsessed with souls, Eurynomus’s taste runs to something else: flesh.
Known as the Corpse Eater, Eurynomus has a voracious appetite for flesh of all sorts. Nothing gives him more pleasure than sucking the meat off the bones of a freshly killed victim, a passion he shares with the Ghouls that follow him. He is such a glutton, so the story goes, that he grew a second mouth in his belly so he could eat faster. Whatever the truth of its origin, his horrific lower maw is legendary. It never speaks, moving only to eat or to lick its lips in anticipation of its next feeding.
The Corpse Eater does what he must to feed his addiction. He sometimes hires himself out to demon princes, though in truth he isn’t a very reliable mercenary. He often visits the Material Plane to feed, and he especially enjoys traveling to worlds at war. Blasted battlescapes, filled with the wounded and the dying, are places of beauty to Eurynomus. Men crying out for their mothers before the oblivion of death are like invitations to dinner for the Corpse Eater and his followers.
In some lands graced by visits from Eurynomus, funerary customs changed quickly. Several churches have taken to cremating corpses instead of burying them, to better protect the honored dead from desecration.
Eurynomus speaks Abyssal, Common, Draconic, Dwarven, and Elven.

Combat
Eurynomus loves to muscle his enemies around, so he usually charges at the first good opportunity and uses his greater bull rush ability to fling back and hopefully knock down the toughest-looking opponent. Then it’s time for the toothy maw to do its work. When faced with a multitude of foes, Eurynomus starts with his breath weapon to even the odds. Eurynomus’s natural weapons, as well as any weapons he wields, are treated as chaotic-aligned and evil-aligned for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.
Breath Weapon (Su): Once every 1d4 rounds, Eurynomus can spew forth a cloud of foul corrosive gas from the depths of his bowels. 40-foot cone, damage 10d6 acid, Reflex DC 21 half. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Greater Bull Rush (Ex): Eurynomus receives a +8 bonus on Strength checks when making bull rush attacks. Such is the force of his impact that if his Strength check result exceeds that of his opponent by more than 5, the opponent is knocked prone in addition to being pushed back.
Spell-Like Abilities:
- At will – greater teleport (self plus 50 pounds of objects only);
- 1/day – desecrate, plane shift (DC 18).
Caster level 16th. The save DC is Charisma-based.
Toothy Maw (Ex): The vile maw in Eurynomus’ distended stomach chomps at nearby opponents in combat. If Eurynomus hits a single opponent withboth his claw attacks, he can make one additional bite attack against that opponent with a +17 attack bonus that deals 3d6+3 damage.
