The Void Between Universes

It is said that when a universe ends, something darker awakens in the spaces between.

From the ashes of the old cosmos, deep within the Void Between Universes, arise the Qlippoths — ancient, malevolent entities that feed upon the remains of what once was. They are not born like gods, nor shaped with purpose. They are the cast-off remnants of uncreation — distorted reflections of divinity, twisted into chaos, hunger, and hatred.

Where the gods of the new universe embody harmony, growth, and balance, the Qlippoths are their antithesis: chaos without form, destruction without renewal, will without soul. They are the final scream of a dying cosmos, given form — and they loathe the light of creation.

Though Nihros, the Goddess of Chaos, Destruction, and the Void, was sealed at the end of the last universe to become the dreaming root of the Abyss, the Qlippoths slipped through the fractures in her wake. Born not from her will, but from the shattered remnants of her chaos, they infest the Void like parasites between lives, awaiting the birth of a new universe.

And when that universe awakens — when the spark becomes flame, and new stars are born — so too do the Qlippoths stir.

They descend upon the forming worlds, seeking to unravel order before it can take root, to corrupt what is young, to whisper madness into the dreams of gods. They are not merely destroyers, but contaminants — warping the natural order, inverting divine truth, creating echoes of horror where wonder was meant to be.

Thus, even in the new dawn, the gods find no peace.

The battle begins anew — not only against mortal threats or cosmic entropy, but against these shadow-born echoes of a dead reality. The gods must hold the line, even as the cycle begins, lest the new universe collapse before it ever truly lives.

This struggle will endure through every age, every pantheon, every rebirth. For while light is born again, so too is shadow. And the Qlippoths, ever patient, ever watching, remain — lurking in the void between, waiting for the walls of reality to weaken once more.
