Lore Domain

The Lore Domain is a d20 3.x sphere of counsel, divination and hard-won knowledge. It comes from Dominique Crouzet’s Celtic Druids and the Tuatha de Dannan and suits priests whose authority rests on knowing what others cannot easily discover.

How the Lore Domain Plays
Lore is a specialist’s domain. Its granted power makes divination more dependable, and nearly every domain spell helps the cleric identify, locate, understand or foresee something. It offers little direct damage, but it can change an adventure before combat begins by revealing the right object, language, person, place or danger.
Lore and Knowledge
The Knowledge Domain represents learning as a broad divine sphere. Lore is narrower and more oracular: it is about secrets, prophecy and the counsel of someone who can find answers unavailable to ordinary scholarship.
Priests, Druids and Sacred Duties
Lore priests serve rulers, travellers and communities as advisers. Their value lies in memory, interpretation and divination rather than public authority alone. They may keep genealogies, translate ancient speech, investigate omens or answer questions whose consequences reach far beyond a single temple.
