Edition Applicability

Choose one rules tradition. Pathfinder 1e uses the published Hatred subdomain of Destruction; the D&D 3.5e panel preserves the separately published Hatred domain. The powers and spell progressions are distinct.

Hatred Subdomain — Pathfinder 1e

Published Pathfinder 1e subdomain of Destruction.

Choose this subdomain in place of its parent when your deity grants both. You cannot also select the parent as your other domain. All retained powers and all nine domain spells are included here.

Destructive Smite (Su)

Before making a single melee attack, declare a smite. The attack gains a morale bonus to damage equal to half your cleric level, minimum +1. You can use this power 3 + your Wisdom modifier times per day.

Hateful Aura (Su)

This power replaces Destructive Aura. At 8th level, emit a 30-foot aura for a total of your cleric level in rounds per day; these rounds need not be consecutive. Enemies inside make a Will save at DC 10 + half your cleric level + your Wisdom modifier. On failure, they cannot treat any other character as an ally for actions or use teamwork feats. The effect ends when the creature leaves the aura, you end it as a free action, or the daily rounds run out.

How the Hatred Domain Plays

Pathfinder Hatred retains Destructive Smite and replaces the parent’s aura with an effect that disrupts cooperation among enemies. In D&D 3.5e, the granted power is designed for a decisive confrontation with one named enemy. Its spell list reinforces that focus through fear, curses, rage, exclusion and lethal high-level magic.

Who Grants the Hatred Domain?

Use it only for deities or powers whose established portfolios genuinely include vengeance, implacable enmity or hatred. A deity with ordinary rivals does not automatically qualify.

What Are Hatred Priests Doing Now?

Hatred priests are marking enemies for destruction, carrying old feuds into new generations, cursing rival champions and pursuing relics that can turn a political rivalry into supernatural obsession.
