Construct Subdomain

The Construct Subdomain is a Pathfinder 1e replacement layer for the Artifice Domain. It keeps Artificer’s Touch, replaces Dancing Weapons with Animate Servant, and swaps only the 7th- and 8th-level domain spells.

Edition Applicability
Construct is a published Pathfinder 1e subdomain of Artifice. The old page incorrectly combined Pathfinder powers with an unrelated full spell list. This rebuild restores the actual subdomain structure.
Construct Subdomain — Pathfinder 1e
Rules status: published Pathfinder 1e subdomain associated with Artifice.
Base Power Retained: Artificer’s Touch
You retain Artificer’s Touch from the Artifice Domain: cast Mending at will, and damage objects or constructs with the domain’s melee touch attack a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.
Replacement Power: Animate Servant
At 8th level, this replaces Dancing Weapons. As a standard action, you can animate objects using your Cleric level as the caster level. You can use this ability once per day at 8th level, plus one additional time per day for every four Cleric levels beyond 8th.
Replacement Domain Spells
| 7th | Limited Wish replaces the Artifice Domain’s 7th-level spell |
|---|---|
| 8th | Polymorph Any Object replaces the Artifice Domain’s 8th-level spell |
All other domain spell levels remain those of the base Artifice Domain.
How the Construct Subdomain Plays
Construct shifts Artifice away from a temporary dancing weapon and toward direct command of animated objects. It is particularly useful in campaigns full of workshops, ruins, siege engines and artificial creatures.
Who Grants the Construct Subdomain?
Use it for deities whose established portfolios genuinely include constructs, animated objects or the creation of artificial servants. A generic craft deity does not automatically need the subdomain if living craftsmanship matters more than constructs.
