Actions

Multiattack. Shecan use her Fists of the Earth. She then makes two Crush attacks.

Fists of the Earth. Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 35 (4d10 + 10) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 28 Strength saving throw or be restrained.

Crush. She makes one Crush attack against each restrained creature within her reach. If the target is a creature, it is grappled (escape DC 28), and it takes 35 (4d10 + 10) bludgeoning damage.

Fertile Ground (Recharge 5-6). She blesses the ground within a 100-foot radius, transforming it into fertile soil. All plant life within the area instantly grows and thrives, producing fruit, nuts, or vegetables. Hostile terrain (e.g., rocky or icy) becomes enriched soil, making it easier to travel across.

Lair Actions

On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Rhea takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects:

  • Blessed Growth. She causes plants to erupt from the ground in a 60-foot radius centered on a point she can see within 120 feet. This area becomes difficult terrain, and the plants provide half cover to creatures within them.
  • Healing Aura. Rhea emits a soothing aura of healing energy in a 100-foot radius. Allies within this area regain 30 hit points at the start of their turn.
  • Petrifying Stomp. She stamps the ground, causing it to shake violently. All creatures within a 60-foot radius must succeed on a DC 28 Dexterity saving throw or be restrained by encroaching earth. A creature can use its action to make a DC 28 Strength check, ending the restraint on a success.

Legendary Actions

Rhea can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Rhea regains spent legendary actions at the start of her turn.

  • Attack. She makes a Fists of the Earth attack.
  • Fertile Blessing (Costs 2 Actions). Rhea grants a plant creature within 60 feet of her advantage on its next attack roll or saving throw.
  • Bolster. She grants one creature within 60 feet of her 20 temporary hit points.
  • Ascend. She moves up to her speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Divine Artifact

Rhea’s Heartstone (Legendary Wondrous Item)

  • Requires attunement by Rhea
  • This radiant, heart-shaped gemstone enhances Rhea’s Fists of the Earth. Her attacks deal an additional 20 radiant damage.

Lair

Rhea’s lair is a massive underground grotto filled with thriving plant life. Her presence enriches the surroundings, making it a haven for druids and plant creatures. The walls are covered in luminous gemstones, and an ever-flowing spring of crystal-clear water courses through the cavern, leading to the source of life itself. Rhea rarely leaves her lair, instead granting audience to those who seek her wisdom and blessings.

Currently in the World

Amidst the celestial symphony of gods and titans, Rhea, the Earth Mother, stands as a silent guardian, her gaze cast upon the world she cherishes. As the seasons ebb and flow, so does the heartbeat of the Earth, a rhythm she both nurtures and cherishes. Her purpose extends far beyond the realms of Olympus, echoing through the mortal world, a guiding force in the lives of those who till the soil and sow their dreams.

Rhea’s first act of nurturing took place eons ago, when she saved her children from the insatiable maw of Cronus, her husband, who consumed his own offspring in fear of a prophecy. As she concealed Zeus, the youngest of her offspring, in the heart of a cavern, she forged an eternal bond with the Earth, entrusting it with his care. It was then that she vowed to protect all life and ensure the world’s abundance.

Throughout the ages, her actions were intertwined with the prosperity of Earth. In the years of ancient Greece, during the spring planting festivals, her followers would offer the first sheaves of grain, acknowledging her role as the mother of bountiful harvests. Her divine gaze safeguarded the growth of fields and blessed the land with abundant produce.

But as the world progressed, Rhea’s watchful eyes extended beyond the fields. She took note of mankind’s endeavors, bestowing her blessings upon those who tilled the earth with care and respected her creation. Her motivations were simple yet profound: she desired a world where nature’s beauty and life’s bounty would harmonize with human civilization.

Rhea’s actions were not limited to the material world; her influence reached the hearts of mortals. Her guidance was invoked by mothers in labor, as they sought her protection for their newborns. Her divine presence accompanied young lovers as they planted the seeds of their families. Her name was whispered with reverence in the quiet moments of gratitude for every meal, every harvest, every child.

Over the centuries, Rhea’s presence remained unwavering, her aura a soothing balm to a world filled with chaos and upheaval. As civilizations rose and fell, her wisdom was sought, her blessings counted upon, and her name passed down from one generation to the next. Her legacy intertwined with that of the Earth itself, an eternal testament to her desire for the continued harmony of the natural world and the souls that inhabit it.
