- Prerequisites: Dexterity 13, Intelligence 13, Combat Expertise, Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, base attack bonus +4.
- Benefit: When you use the full attack action, you can give up your regular attacks and instead make one melee attack at your full base attack bonus against each opponent within reach. When you use the Whirlwind Attack feat, you also forfeit any bonus or extra attacks granted by other feats, spells, or abilities.
- Special: A fighter may select Whirlwind Attack as one of his fighter bonus feats.
How Whirlwind Attack Works
Whirlwind Attack replaces your normal full-attack routine with one melee attack at your full base attack bonus against every opponent within reach. You give up the attacks you would normally make from the full attack action in order to make this sweep of nearby targets.
Whirlwind Attack Example
A fighter is within reach of four enemies. Instead of making the fighter’s normal sequence of attacks, Whirlwind Attack allows one melee attack at full base attack bonus against each of the four enemies. The fighter does not also make the normal iterative or bonus attacks during that Whirlwind Attack.
Important Limits
- Only opponents within your reach can be attacked.
- Each opponent is attacked once as part of the feat.
- Bonus or extra attacks granted by other feats, spells or abilities are forfeited when Whirlwind Attack is used.
- The feat requires Dexterity 13, Intelligence 13, Combat Expertise, Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack and base attack bonus +4.
