Choose one type of melee weapon, such as longsword or greataxe. With that weapon, you do more damage on a critical hit.

This material is Open Game Content, and is licensed for public use under the terms of the Open Game License v1.0a.

Prerequisites Strength 23, Cleave, Great Cleave, Improved critical (chosen weapon), Power Attack, Weapon Focus (chosen weapon).
Benefit When using the weapon you have selected, you deal an extra 1d6 points of bonus damage on a successful critical hit. If the weapon’s critical multiplier is ×3, add +2d6 points of bonus damage instead, and if the multiplier is ×4, add +3d6 points of bonus damage instead. Creatures immune to critical hits can’t be affected by this feat.
Special You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take this feat, it applies to a different type of weapon.

How Overwhelming Critical Works

Overwhelming Critical adds bonus damage when you score a critical hit with one selected melee weapon. The amount depends on that weapon’s critical multiplier.

Bonus Damage by Critical Multiplier

×2 critical: +1d6 bonus damage.
×3 critical: +2d6 bonus damage.
×4 critical: +3d6 bonus damage.

Overwhelming Critical Example

A character selects a greataxe with a ×3 critical multiplier. Whenever the character scores a critical hit with that greataxe, Overwhelming Critical adds +2d6 damage on top of the weapon’s normal critical damage. A creature immune to critical hits gains no extra damage from this feat.

Prerequisite Chain

The feat requires Strength 23, Cleave, Great Cleave, Improved Critical, Power Attack and Weapon Focus with the chosen weapon. It is itself a prerequisite for Devastating Critical.
