Dabble Demonology — Legacy Witch Art
Demonology is a legacy Witch Art concerned with summoning, binding and bargaining with demons and other hostile outsiders. It belongs to the preserved d20 Dabble system.
Choose Demonology If…
- You want knowledge of demons and hostile outsiders to be one of your Witch’s defining skills.
- You enjoy summoning, binding, banishing and dangerous negotiation.
- You want supernatural bargains to create as many problems as they solve.
What it feels like to play: Demonology is strongest when the summoned creature is not just a stat block. Knowing a demon’s name, weakness or desire should matter as much as the spell that brings it into the room.
Legacy rules note
This Art uses the preserved d20 Witch rules. Its original prerequisites and spell progression remain below; other editions need a deliberate conversion.

Demonologists study how to identify, summon, bind, dismiss and negotiate with dangerous outsiders. The original d20 write-up restricts the Art to non-good Witches; campaigns may instead make the moral risk depend on what the Witch summons, bargains for and chooses to do.
Power: Intimidate and Knowledge (the planes) are class skills, and the witch can speak Abyssal as a bonus language.
Spells:
- 0 Sacrificial skill,
- 1 protection from evil,
- 2 Demoncall,
- 3 summon monster III (dretch),
- 4 fear,
- 5 contact other plane,
- 6 planar binding,
- 7 summon monster VII (babau),
- 8 Summon monster VIII (vrock),
- 9 gate.
