Why It Matters

The Omega Man turns plague survival into a conflict over what counts as humanity after civilisation collapses. Neville has technology, medicine and the empty city; his enemies have numbers, ideology and a radically different vision of the future.

Worldbuilding Inspiration

  • A survivor who controls abandoned technology but cannot rebuild society alone.
  • A plague that creates competing definitions of the human future.
  • An empty city becoming both fortress and trap.
