The Divine Power of Emulation
Hesiod lists Zelus with Nike, Kratos and Bia among the children of Pallas and Styx. His name carries the sense of zeal and emulation: the fierce intensity of wanting to match a standard or rival.
That makes Zelus more than simple jealousy. He is the dangerous and productive energy of comparison — the force that can create excellence, obsession or feud depending on how mortals answer it.
Worship in the Living World
Athletes, artists, warriors, students and rival guilds invoke Zelus before contests. His healthiest cults praise worthy rivals and measurable improvement; unhealthy ones turn every relationship into a contest that can never end.
Pantheon Plane: The Olympian Glades
Zelus moves constantly through the Olympian Glades, appearing wherever divine or heroic contests are about to become consequential. He rarely sits still long enough to claim a fixed court.
What Is Zelus Doing Now?
Two famous schools of magic have begun producing identical breakthroughs within days of one another, each insisting the other is stealing its work.
Zelus has blessed both schools. The mystery is not who is copying whom, but why their rivalry is accelerating faster than either side can control.

Divine Relic — The Rival’s Laurel
An original game relic woven from leaves that never dry. After seeing another creature succeed on an ability check, the wearer may gain advantage on the next check using the same ability. Once per week the laurel grants haste to up to six willing creatures for 1 minute without concentration.

Sources and Licensing
Hesiod’s Theogony supplies Zelus’s genealogy and the place of Styx’s children beside Zeus; the game interpretation develops the Greek idea of zeal and emulation into playable divine behaviour.
