Starheart Jen possesses an internalized power similar to that of her father’s. She doesn’t require a Concentration check to activate them, however being damaged while maintaining an effect requires a Concentration check (DC 15 plus damage dealt) to continue to maintain the effect. Jade’s power is considered magical in nature, and she has an effective caster level of 14.

The following effects are always active:

  • +10 bonus to armor class (deflection), saves, and initiative.
  • 75% fortification
  • Jen adds her Charisma modifier to all attack and melee damage rolls.
  • Unarmed strikes can deal lethal or nonlethal damage, and deal +2d6 force damage.

Construct Jade may form constructs similar to those of Green Lanterns. (See “Creating a Green Lantern Ring construct”) Creating a construct is a standard action. Jade can create four constructs as a full round action. Jade’s constructs suffer a -10 AC, save and damage penalty against creatures or objects made of wood. Jade’s constructs are considered to be created from a DC 40 Concentration check. If Jade is forced to make a Concentration check to maintain her power (such as if she is damaged), she suffers a -1 penalty to the check for each construct she has active. If a construct of Jade’s is destroyed, she must make a Concentration check just as if she had taken the damage herself.

Power Blast Jade can channel her power into a powerful blast of energy. This blast is a ray with a 200 foot range. The blast deals 9d8 damage. The damage may be of any type or types Jade chooses, although force is the default.

Jade may instead affect an area with this blast, in which case it is either a 20 foot cone or a 50 foot long line. An area blast allows a Reflex save (DC 17) for half damage. Using the ray is an attack action; either area attack takes a standard action.

Wooden creatures and objects take half damage (before energy resistance) from Jade’s blast.

Shield Jade can create a personal barrier that absorbs all attacks, energy and spells. The shield can withstand 100 points of damage. Jade can also create an area shield. The shield has a square area of 200 feet, although this total area can be shaped as she sees fit. Additionally, she may double the area, at the cost of halving the total damage absorbed by the shield. Creating a shield is a standard action. If Jade spends an intense action concentrating on the shield, it gains fast healing 20. Wood creatures and weapons deal double damage to Jade’s shield. Breaching Jade’s shield through damage forces her to make a Fortitude save (DC damage dealt) or be stunned for 1d4 rounds.

Speed Jade may gain a temporary Super Speed Level of 8 if she so chooses. It costs her a full round to maintain her speed, and she suffers a -10 penalty to attacks while so concentrating.
