Dabble Black Magic — Legacy Witch Art

Black Magic is a legacy Witch Art built around poison, death magic, weakening curses and command of the undead. It belongs to the preserved d20 Dabble system.

Choose Black Magic If…

  • You want destructive magic, poison and necromancy at the centre of your Witch.
  • You enjoy playing with moral risk and the consequences of deliberately harmful magic.
  • You want an Art suited to a Malefic Witch, dangerous patron or grim campaign.

What it feels like to play: Black Magic is not subtle about what it does. Choose it when you want your Witch’s dangerous choices to be visible in the spells and powers you bring to the table.

Legacy rules note

This Art uses the preserved d20 Witch rules. Its original prerequisites and spell progression remain below; other editions need a deliberate conversion.

Also called the Dark Art or Bone Magic in some covens, this Art specialises in poisons, necromancy and spells that weaken or harm. The original d20 write-up limits it to evil-aligned Witches; in play, that represents deliberate destructive conduct rather than ancestry or reputation.

Power: Poison Apples: The witch can handle poisons with no chance of poisoning herself and receives a +2 bonus to all Craft (Poisonmaking) checks.
