Dire Tiger

“Deadly Prowler: Unleash the Ferocious Power of the Dire Tiger in Your Campaign!”

Dire Tiger
Midjourney

The Dire Tiger, a colossal and awe-inspiring beast, is the embodiment of primal ferocity. Its magnificent form combines the grace and agility of the most agile predators with an overwhelming muscular strength. Standing as tall as 12 feet at the shoulder, and with a length of up to 16 feet, this majestic creature is a sight to behold.

The Dire Tiger’s body is covered in sleek, tawny fur adorned with dark stripes, providing it with the perfect camouflage for stalking its prey. Its powerful jaws house rows of razor-sharp teeth, capable of crushing bones and rending flesh. Its eyes, like golden orbs, are windows to a calculating and relentless mind that thirsts for the thrill of the hunt.

Renowned for its speed, the Dire Tiger can reach incredible velocities when charging after its quarry. Yet, it can also display remarkable stealth, often creeping through the underbrush with near-silent footsteps before lunging with explosive force upon its unsuspecting prey.

In the wild, the Dire Tiger is a force of nature, and its presence is enough to send other creatures fleeing in fear. Masters of the hunt, these creatures command respect from all who share their territory. As they prowl the depths of dense forests and shadowy jungles, the Dire Tigers epitomize the untamed, wild spirit of the natural world.

Keen Smell. The tiger has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Pounce. If the tiger moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a claw attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the tiger can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.

Multiattack. The tiger can make two attacks: one with its bite and one with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (2d10 + 7) piercing damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d6 + 7) slashing damage.

Climbing Leap. The tiger can use 20 feet of its climbing movement to jump to a height of 15 feet and a distance of 20 feet, without needing to make an ability check.

Tiger’s Prowess. The tiger has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Fearful Roar (Recharge 5-6). The tiger lets out a terrifying roar. Each creature of the tiger’s choice within 60 feet of it that can hear the roar must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the tiger’s Fearful Roar for the next 24 hours.

Actions

Bite. The tiger makes one bite attack.

Climb. The tiger climbs up to 20 feet, using only 5 feet of its movement.

Reactions

Uncanny Dodge. When an attacker the tiger can see hits it with an attack, the tiger can use its reaction to halve the attack’s damage against it.

Dire tigers prey on just about anything that moves. They will patiently stalk a potential meal, striking whenever the creature lets down its guard.

Dire tigers grow to be over 12 feet long and can weigh up to 6,000 pounds.
