“Delay Poison: Nature’s Timeless Shield Against Deadly Toxins”

Delay Poison
Create

Delay Poison is a protective spell that taps into the natural resilience of fungi and the restorative forces of nature to temporarily suspend the harmful effects of poison within the body. Upon casting, the spell grants the target immunity to poison for the spell’s duration, preventing any poison currently affecting the creature or any poison it encounters from causing damage or debilitating effects.

While under the influence of Delay Poison, the target’s body halts the progression of any poison, effectively freezing its effects. However, the spell does not cure or neutralize poison; once the spell ends or concentration is broken, any previously suspended poison resumes its normal effects, potentially causing harm if not otherwise treated.

Components: V, S, M (a pinch of crushed mushrooms or fungi)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 hour

Description:
You invoke the natural resilience of fungi and the healing power of nature to delay the effects of poison in the target’s body. For the duration, the target is immune to the effects of poison. Any poison currently affecting the target is suspended and will not cause damage or other harmful effects until the spell ends. However, the poison’s damage or conditions do not heal during this time; the effects simply pause. Once the spell ends, the poison’s effects resume as normal unless removed by other means.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 2nd. The creatures must be within 30 feet of each other when you target them.

Saving Throw. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or the spell fails. The saving throw is made at the time of casting. The spell does not require repeated saving throws.

Spell Resistance: The spell can be resisted by magic that grants immunity or advantage on saving throws against poison.
