Flask of Curses
Flask of Curses
Flask of Curses
Aura moderate conjuration; CL 7th Slot none; Weight 2 lbs.
DESCRIPTION
This item looks like an ordinary beaker, bottle, container, decanter, flask, or jug. It may contain a liquid, or it may emit smoke. When the flask is first unstoppered, all within 30 feet must make a DC 17 Will save or be cursed, taking a -2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, and skill checks until a remove curse spell is cast upon them.
CREATION
Magic Items decanter of endless water, efreeti bottle, eversmoking bottle, iron flask
Using the Flask
The curse is triggered the first time the container is unstoppered. Every creature within 30 feet must resolve the listed Will save; those that fail take the stated penalties until a Remove Curse spell ends the effect.
Recognising the Danger
The flask is deliberately deceptive and can resemble an ordinary bottle, jug or decanter. Its appearance alone does not reveal that opening it is hazardous, which makes identification magic and caution around unknown containers particularly important.
Edition Note
This page preserves a legacy cursed-item stat block. Later editions handle curses, saving throws and item identification differently, so use these numbers only in the appropriate rules context.
