Perfect Multiweapon Fighting — D&D 3.5e Epic Feat

Perfect Multiweapon Fighting is a D&D 3.5e epic feat for a combatant with three or more hands. It gives each extra weapon the same number of attacks as the primary weapon during a full attack, using the primary weapon’s base attack sequence. It does not remove the usual penalties for fighting with multiple weapons.

D&D 3.5e — Epic Feat Rules

At a Glance: Dexterity 25; three or more hands; Multiweapon Fighting and Greater Multiweapon Fighting. This feat changes how many attacks each off-hand weapon can make, not the total number of hands, the base attack bonus or the attack penalties.

  • Prerequisite Dexterity 25, three or more hands, Greater Multiweapon Fighting, Multiweapon Fighting.
  • Benefit You can make as many attacks with each extra weapon as with your primary weapon, using the same base attack bonus. You still take the normal penalties for fighting with two weapons.
  • Normal Without this feat, you can make only one attack per round with each extra weapon (or two attacks per round with each weapon if you have Multiweapon Fighting, or three attacks per round with each extra weapon if you have Greater Multiweapon Fighting). Each attack after the first extra attack has a cumulative -5 penalty.
  • Special This feat replaces the Perfect Two-Weapon Fighting feat for creatures with more than two arms.

How It Works in Combat

A creature wielding weapons in four hands could normally make its full attack sequence with its main hand, but it has fewer attacks with each extra weapon. Once it qualifies for Perfect Multiweapon Fighting, each of those three extra weapons can follow the same base attack sequence. You still apply the normal multiple-weapon penalties to the attack rolls.

Example: Assume a qualifying four-armed creature has a primary weapon attack sequence of +18/+13/+8/+3 before multiple-weapon penalties. With this feat, it can also make four attacks with each of its three extra weapons using that same sequence. That is up to sixteen weapon attacks during a full attack, not sixteen separate actions. Other modifiers and the appropriate multiple-weapon penalties still apply to each roll.

D&D 2024 and 2014: This is not a feat in those editions’ core SRDs; their attack and feat systems must not be treated as interchangeable with 3.5e epic rules. Pathfinder 1e: Related multiweapon rules exist, but this page does not claim that the exact D&D epic feat is a published Pathfinder character option.

Check the prerequisite Greater Multiweapon Fighting, the two-handed counterpart Perfect Two-Weapon Fighting and the Epic Feats directory. Original published rules: D&D 3.5e Epic Feats SRD. The source mechanics and Open Game Content notice above are preserved.
