This item takes the form of a stone or wooden chair, covered with elaborate runes. The precise shape varies based on the tastes of the artificer; it could be an enormous, immovable throne or a lighter chair.

Whatever its form, the mystical sigils and stones embedded in the surface of the chair hint at its hidden powers.

A character who sits in the seat is immediately affected by painful truth, with no opportunity for a Will save. While he remains in the chair, he suffers 1d4 points of damage every time he knowingly lies, and he must make a Fortitude save (DC 13) or cry out in pain. While these objects are usually used for purposes of interrogation, they are occasionally used as thrones for rulers; when the king speaks while sitting in honor’s seat, the people know that they can trust his words.

Faint evocation; CL 3rd; Craft Wondrous Item, painful truth; Price 12,000 gp; Weight varies
