A romantic settlement is famous for courtship, beauty, songs, poetry, gifts and public displays of affection. Travellers arrive expecting charm and spectacle, and local merchants are happy to sell them the flowers, jewellery, charms and keepsakes that go with the reputation.

Legacy Settlement Rules

Under the legacy settlement-quality rules, Romantic increases Society by 1. The original rule also doubles the number of minor magic items available for sale, reflecting the popularity of magical tokens and expensive gifts.

Using It in Play

Romance here can be sincere, fashionable, commercial or political. A noble marriage can settle a feud, a song can damage a reputation, and a missing gift can become evidence in a larger intrigue.

Adventurers may be hired to deliver a token discreetly, recover stolen correspondence, protect a public celebration or discover whether an apparent love affair is genuine, coerced or part of a political bargain.
