Racial Enclave Settlement
Settlements, Racial Enclave
At a Glance
A Racial Enclave is a settlement dominated by one ancestry or people—the legacy rules use the term “race.” Examples include a halfling farming community, an elven town or a half-orc encampment whose customs and daily life are shaped by the majority population.

Decrease Society by 1.
One or more peoples are designated as especially welcome when the settlement is created. Members of those groups can purchase goods and services in the settlement at a 25% discount.
Using It in Play
An enclave need not be hostile to outsiders. The important feature is that local architecture, food, festivals, law and commerce assume the customs of a particular people. Visitors may need to adapt to unfamiliar expectations even when they are treated fairly.
Adventure Use
Enclaves work well as cultural centres, diaspora communities and border settlements. Conflicts may involve preserving local autonomy, protecting traditional lands, negotiating with neighbouring rulers or deciding how much the community should open itself to outsiders.
