Effect
The caster can ask one question per round and receives the answer to the best of the subject’s knowledge. Questions and answers are transmitted telepathically, so a shared language is not required. A creature of limited intelligence may communicate mainly through impressions or images.
Sleeping Subjects
A sleeping creature can be probed, but after each question it may make a Will save against the spell’s DC to wake.
Limits
The spell does not invent information the target does not possess. An unwilling target that can move beyond the spell’s range may also escape the ongoing probe.
