Each person becomes perpetually aware of the other’s location, well enough to find the other even when blindfolded, and their physical and emotional condition at any time. This knowledge does not give any information about the subject’s surroundings – if she is chained in a prison, for example, the other subject of the spell will only know where she is and that she is despondent and weak but unharmed. The two subjects must be within the spell’s range when it is cast, but after that the link persists at any distance.

A person can be under the effects of only one lovers’ knot spell at any given time; it is not possible for more than two people to be simultaneously linked by this spell.
