Effect
While the spell lasts, a creature with a soul that dies within 90 feet of the caster can have its soul anchored to the caster. The source gives the save DC as 25 + the caster’s spellcasting ability modifier.
An anchored soul cannot proceed normally into the afterlife and cannot be returned by ordinary raise/resurrection effects while held. The spell can affect up to 100 Hit Dice of creatures per casting.
If the caster travels to another plane, the anchored souls remain attached and travel with the caster; the spell itself does not provide the planar travel method.
The source attributes this spell to Mephistopheles.
Edition Status
This is third-party 3.x epic material. Modern resurrection and afterlife rules do not use the same soul-anchor procedure unless a campaign explicitly adopts it.
