Frost Weapon
Frost Weapon
This material is Open Game Content, and is licensed for public use under the terms of the Open Game License v1.0a.
Upon command, a frost weapon is sheathed in icy cold.
Legacy Rules
The cold does not harm the wielder. The effect remains active until another command is given. A frost weapon deals an extra 1d6 points of cold damage on a successful hit. Bows, crossbows and slings with this property pass the cold effect to their ammunition.
Using the Property
The weapon’s cold is command-activated and remains in effect without needing to be renewed for every attack. The extra damage is added to the weapon’s normal successful-hit damage under the legacy rules.
Edition Note
This is a legacy magic-weapon enhancement. Later editions use different weapon-property and pricing systems, so retain the +1-equivalent statistics only in the rules context that uses them.
Moderate evocation; CL 8th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, chill metal or ice storm; Price +1 bonus.
