The double-barrelled musket places two long-gun barrels on one stock, trading weight and reliability for a second loaded shot before a complete reload.
Double-Barrelled Musket Rules by Edition
Double-Barrelled Musket — D&D 5.5e / 2024
Campaign conversion. Each barrel uses the 2024 Musket profile: 1d12 Piercing, 40/120 ft., Loading, Two-Handed, Slow. The barrels can be fired separately. If both are loaded, make two attacks at −4 against the same target as one Attack; each hit deals normal musket damage. Slow can apply only once from the double shot.
Double-Barrelled Musket — D&D 5e / 2014
Campaign conversion. Each barrel uses the 2014 Musket profile. Fire separately or make the same two-roll, −4 double shot against one target. No Weapon Mastery.

Each barrel can be fired independently, or both can be fired together at the same target. A simultaneous double shot imposes a −4 penalty on each shot.
Double-Barrelled Musket — D&D 3.5e
Campaign conversion. Each barrel uses the Renaissance Musket profile: 1d10 Small / 1d12 Medium, ×3, 150-foot range increment. Fire separately, or fire both at one target with two attacks at −4. Each barrel requires a standard action to reload.
What Changes Between Editions?
- PF1e supplies the published capacity and increased misfire range.
- D&D versions use the edition’s normal Musket as the base for the twin-barrel conversion.
