Epic Spellcasting (Epic)

A character with the Epic Spellcasting feat may start acquiring epic spells immediately.

• Prerequisite Spellcraft 24 ranks, Knowledge (arcana) 24 ranks, ability to cast 9th-level arcane spells. OR Spellcraft 24 ranks, Knowledge (religion) 24 ranks, ability to cast 9th-level divine spells. OR Spellcraft 24 ranks, Knowledge (nature) 24 ranks, ability to cast 9th-level divine spells.
• Benefit You may develop and cast epic spells. If you are an arcane spellcaster, you may cast a number of epic spells per day equal to your ranks in Knowledge (arcana) divided by 10. If you are a divine spellcaster, you may cast a number of epic spells per day equal to your ranks in Knowledge (religion) or Knowledge (nature) divided by 10.
• Special If you meet more than one set of prerequisites, the limit on the number of spells you may cast per day is cumulative.

How Epic Spellcasting Works

Epic Spellcasting unlocks the development and casting of epic spells once the character meets one of the feat’s prerequisite routes. Arcane casters use Spellcraft and Knowledge (arcana); divine casters use Spellcraft with Knowledge (religion) or Knowledge (nature), depending on the tradition involved.

Epic Spells per Day

An arcane caster can cast a number of epic spells per day equal to ranks in Knowledge (arcana) divided by 10. A divine caster uses ranks in Knowledge (religion) or Knowledge (nature) divided by 10. Use the integer result produced by the rules for the relevant skill ranks.

Epic Spellcasting Example

An arcane caster with 30 ranks in Knowledge (arcana) can cast three epic spells per day from that route. A character who legitimately meets more than one prerequisite route can add the separate daily limits together as described by the feat’s special rule.

Prerequisite Threshold

The feat requires 24 ranks in Spellcraft and the relevant Knowledge skill, together with the ability to cast 9th-level spells of the appropriate type. It is therefore a true epic progression point rather than an ordinary high-level spellcasting feat.
