Energy Resistance (Epic)

Benefit Choose a type of energy (acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic). You gain resistance 10 to that type of energy, or your existing resistance to that type of energy increases by 10. This feat does not stack with energy resistance granted by magic items or nonpermanent magical effects.
Special You can gain this feat multiple times. If the same type of energy is chosen, the effects stack.

How Energy Resistance Works

Choose acid, cold, electricity, fire or sonic damage when you take the feat. You gain resistance 10 to that energy type, or increase existing resistance to that type by 10.

Taking Energy Resistance More Than Once

You can select the feat repeatedly. Choosing the same energy type again stacks the feat’s benefits: fire resistance 10 becomes fire resistance 20 after a second selection. You can instead choose a different energy type to broaden your defenses.

Stacking Limit

The feat does not stack with energy resistance granted by magic items or nonpermanent magical effects. This makes the feat most useful as a permanent part of an epic character’s own defenses rather than as an addition to temporary magical resistance.
