Benefit: You get a +2 bonus on all Fortitude saving throws.
What Great Fortitude Protects Against
Great Fortitude improves every Fortitude saving throw by +2. Fortitude saves commonly represent the body’s ability to resist poison, disease, physical transformation, harsh environmental effects and other threats that test endurance rather than reflexes or mental resolve.
Great Fortitude Example
A character with a Fortitude save bonus of +5 would normally roll 1d20 + 5. With Great Fortitude the same save is made at +7. Against a DC 18 effect, a roll of 11 therefore succeeds with the feat instead of producing a total of only 16.
When to Choose It
- Characters with weak Fortitude saves can use it to reduce a clear defensive weakness.
- Front-line characters may value it in campaigns with poison, disease and physically punishing monster abilities.
- The feat has no prerequisite, so it can be added without entering a longer feat chain.
See the Feats index for other defensive options.
