Bubonic Plague

Source Pathfinder #31: Stolen Land pg. 78

Bubonic plague: Touch – injury; save Fort DC 17; onset 1 day; frequency 1/day; effect 1d4 Constitution damage, 1d4 Strength damage, 1 Charisma damage, victim is fatigued; cure 2 consecutive saves.

Bubonic plague is suspected as the cause of the infamous Black Death, which was also known as black plague, great plague, great pestilence, great mortality, and other names. It causes buboes to grow in infected lymph nodes (usually around the groin or armpits) which ooze pus, in addition to fever, headaches, nausea and vomiting. Death may occur in as little as 4-7 days. Pneumatic plague was generally worse, since it was spread from human-to-human contact instead of flea-to-human. With any of the great plagues, death was almost certain, as 4 out of 5 people would die within 8 days of becoming sick; they may have appeared almost purple from the infections running rampant through their bodies.
