Flame Tongue is a +1 flaming burst longsword with an additional once-per-day ranged fire attack.
Legacy Rules
Once per day, the sword can blast a fiery ray at a target within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. On a successful hit, the ray deals 4d6 points of fire damage.
Using the Sword
The daily ray is separate from the weapon’s normal flaming-burst melee damage. Track the once-per-day use independently from ordinary attacks with the longsword.
Edition Note
This page preserves a legacy magic-weapon version of Flame Tongue. Later editions use different statistics and should use their own edition entry rather than these numbers.
