Tourist Attraction Settlement
A tourist-attraction settlement has a landmark, festival, ruin, market, natural wonder or other draw that brings visitors from far beyond the local region.
Legacy Settlement Rules
Under the legacy Pathfinder settlement rules, Tourist Attraction increases Economy by 1 and increases Base Value by 20%.
What Visitors Change
- Inns, guides, transport and entertainment become important local businesses.
- Merchants stock goods for outsiders as well as residents.
- Pickpockets, swindlers and opportunists follow the crowds.
- Local customs can become performances for visitors, creating tension with residents.
Using It in Play
The attraction should matter to the settlement’s daily rhythm. A seasonal festival can swell the population for a week, while a permanent wonder may support generations of guides and merchants.
Adventure hooks include a stolen ceremonial object, sabotage before a festival, a dangerous truth hidden beneath a famous landmark or a visitor whose disappearance threatens the settlement’s reputation.
