Virgin Innocence

Allegorical innocence representing the Virgin Innocence spell

Virgin Innocence convinces one creature that the caster is innocent of a particular deed or statement. Evidence cannot shake that belief while the legacy enchantment lasts.

Virgin Innocence — D&D 3.5e (legacy d20 Witch rules)

School Enchantment (Charm) [Mind-Affecting]
Level Witch 2, Bard 3
Components S, M
Casting Time 1 action
Range Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./level)
Target One person
Duration 1 day/level
Saving Throw Will negates
Spell Resistance Yes

The target becomes convinced that the caster is innocent of one specified event or statement. While the spell lasts, contrary evidence does not alter that belief.

The original source specifies a lock of hair from a virgin as the material component; if the caster qualifies, their own hair can be used. That component is preserved here as part of the legacy spell text rather than treated as a universal Witch practice.

Edition Boundary

The spell imposes an unusually absolute belief effect for a low-level enchantment. Modern editions should use their own charm and influence rules rather than copying it unchanged.
