Web of Arachne

Arachne challenged the goddess Athena to a weaving contest, and defeated the goddess, who transformed her into a spider in revenge. This silvery web is the piece the unfortunate young woman wove for that contest.

Web of Arachne can be worn like a great cloak, complete with hood. The fabric is woven so tightly that it actually deflects arrows and other weapons, granting its wearer a +4 deflection bonus to AC. The soft material also muffles sound, giving its owner a +10 competence bonus on Move Silently checks, and a +10 competence bonus on Hide checks in dim lighting as the muted silvery gray blends into the shadows. The web’s greatest power, however, is its ability to resist magic — while wrapped in the cloak, the wearer gains a +5 resistance bonus on all saves versus spells and spell-like abilities.
