Review

Ator, the Fighting Eagle is a 1982 Italian sword and sorcery film directed by Enzo G. Castellari and released in the United States by World Northal. The film follows the story of Ator, the son of a family of wizards, as he sets out to avenge the deaths of his family and reclaim what was taken from him.

The film primarily focuses on the action, with fight scenes taking up the majority of the runtime. It makes use of low-budget effects such as rear projection and freeze-framing in order to make the action appear more expansive. The plot itself is often quite thin, with very little in terms of character development or story progression.

The acting is serviceable, but largely forgettable. The performances of Miles O’Keeffe, Sabrina Siani, and John Steiner are all quite decent, but none of them are particularly memorable or outstanding.

Though is a decent enough film, but don’t expect to be blown away by it. The action scenes are decent enough, but the story is very simple and the acting is largely forgettable. If you’re looking for a decent sword and sorcery movie, then it may be worth a watch, but don’t expect anything more than that.
