Under-City Settlement
Settlements, Under City
At a Glance
An Under-City Settlement stands above a dangerous subterranean world. Beneath its streets may lie sewers, mines, forgotten basements, ancient ruins, natural caverns or dungeon levels extending far below the inhabited city.
Legacy Settlement Rules
Increase Lore by 1 and Danger by 20.
Using It in Play
The upper settlement and the under-city influence one another. Smugglers, thieves and outcasts may use forgotten entrances, while monsters emerge through wells, cellars or collapsed passages. Local residents often know rumours about what lies beneath even when official maps do not.
Adventure Use
An under-city creates immediate vertical exploration. A missing person can vanish below street level, a forgotten ruin can undermine a palace, or an ordinary cellar door can lead into a much older layer of the settlement.
