Pocket Universe Settlement
A pocket-universe settlement occupies far more space than its entrance should physically allow. A hamlet may lie behind a pantry door, a fortress between two trees or an entire metropolis beyond a narrow alley that appears ordinary from outside.
Legacy Settlement Rules
Under the legacy settlement-quality rules, Pocket Universe decreases Economy by 2 and increases Spellcasting availability by 2 levels.
Finding the entrance can require a DC 20 Knowledge (local) or Knowledge (the planes) check, modified by settlement size in reverse: large settlements are easier to find than tiny ones.
How It Changes Travel
The entrance becomes strategically vital. Closing a door, moving a marker or controlling a particular archway can isolate thousands of inhabitants. Trade therefore depends on knowing where the threshold is and keeping it accessible.
Adventure Use
A pocket settlement can vanish from ordinary routes without moving at all. Adventurers may be hired to find a lost entrance, escort supplies through a dangerous threshold or discover why time, weather or distance behaves differently inside.
The most interesting versions have rules: certain objects cannot cross, the entrance shifts by season or outsiders must be invited before they can perceive it.
